Citricos Review

OLP and friends reviews a delicious dinner at Citricos Restaurant located at Disneys Grand Floridan Resort & Spa, Walt Disney World

OLP Review:

Dining at Citricos in the Grand Floridian Resort is like dining in a piece of art, in my humble opinion...
Guests are greeted in a waiting area,

and led through a stylized gate...

into a world of casual grace.

As OLP reviewers, we were given a tour of the kitchen before food preparation began..

Wouldn't you just to have a kitchen like this?!

Here is the Citrico's version of the "Chef's Table".  Wouldn't this be a dining experience to write home about?

Once the restaurant opens and the cooking begins...

The ambiance shifts into a "twilight mellow"

Someone I know REALLY likes the ambiance at Citricos

For starters, we began with:

Arugula and Proscuitto

and Fresh Greens with Olive and Red Pepper pesto

served, of course, with bread

For an appetizer, we chose Shrimp with Feta...very YUM!

Alan opted for steak as his entree and was pleased.

I chose lobster in a lentil stew.. very flavorful if a tad chewier than the BEST lobster I ever had

Dessert - you guessed it - was a sugar free creation specially made for us:  Baked Apple in phyllo dough with a vanilla cream sauce.

This meal with two beverages, salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert was just under $200.00  Were we full? Oh yeah!  Were we happy?  Yeppers  Will we visit Citricos again?  Count on it!

Best Anniversary Dinner!
10/5/2015 by Karen

I will always remember this meal.  The staff and waiter made it so special for us!  The restaurant is beautiful, and the seating is very comfortable.  The food is, well, a little "foodie" for my tastes, but the waiter helped me make it work and make it special.  I hope my husband and I can make Citrico's our Anniversary date over and over again.

Really, I can't get enough of this restaurant.  Everything from the very comfortable chairs to the "farm to table" fresh food appeals greatly to me.  I would eat here every trip to Disney World if there weren't so many other good restaurants to sample ; >)

Great chef, excellent food

Citrico's has long been a staple of celebratory meals in our family, we recently revisited for my birthday and it did not disappoint.  To start with, the Chef was very helpful and interesting -- giving us lots of tidbits about the Delta asparagus (wild picked from California), the corn and how they don't add sugar to much of anything -- always a great way to impress us!  I had the crab cake -- a rather cheesey creamy concoction which was quite a bit different from the typical crunchy crab cake.  Then I had the Berkshire pork (fed on acorns) tenderloin and belly -- having seen pork belly on many a cook show I was quite curious to actually try one.  The execution of the dish appeared perfect to me, the tenderloin was tender and delicious.  The pork belly was a bit weird to me but quite tender and fatty.  What turned out to be my favorite thing on the plate was the gigande bean (from Italy) and swiss chard cassoulet which was t
Why Citricos is my favorite restaurant

Ambiance, ambiance, ambiance!  This is the most comfortably elegant restaurant on Disney property, imho.  Everything from the colors, artwork, and spacing between tables to the shape of the chairs and the lighting in the dining room draw me into an evening's experience that is both relaxed and refined.

The food is pretty good, too  I can make a meal off of the appeitizers easily, but - usually - at least one of the entrees is too enticing to pass up.

The service is always impeccable.

I try other upscale eateries at Disney World, but always I come home to Citricos
